Caged Nuts

How to use Cage Nuts?

Our Caged Nuts are composed of a cylindrical plastic part with an internal thread and external claws. They are therefore designed to be inserted into round drilled holes provided for this purpose, then screwed on using a bolt or screw with a threaded rod. Their ingenious design allows secure clamping in materials such as wood, metal, plastic and sheet metal, providing a reliable solution for a wide range of fastening applications. No special tools are required to tighten them all you need is a spanner or a standard screwdriver.

What are our Caged Nuts’ advantages?

Firstly, the versatility of the material. Our Caged Nuts are available in a variety of materials such as steel (on request) or plastic (POM). In fact, cage nuts can be selected according to the specific requirements of each application, offering corrosion resistance or electrical insulation as required. Our cage nuts are also available in a wide range of diameters and thread pitches (M5 or M6). Caged nuts can therefore be adapted to various sizes of bolts and threaded rods, offering appreciable design flexibility.

On the other hand, Caged Nuts are very easy to install. Thanks to their simple design, cage nuts can be easily installed with a simple quarter-turn. And all this without the need for special tools, reducing the time and costs associated with assembly. Although fixing is quick and easy, our cage nuts offer a strong, durable hold. In fact, thanks to the cage nuts ‘ external claws, they ensure solid, secure tightening, preventing loosening even in vibration-prone conditions.

Finally, they offer an aesthetic finish by leaving only the head of the bolt protruding(domed head, flat head). For a clean finish, opt for a countersunk head bolt. Our cage nuts are also reusable. Simply unscrew the bolt previously fitted and reuse the cage nut for the new application.

What are Cage Nuts used for?

Caged nuts are widely used in many applications. In general, they are useful for applications where the rear face of the fastening panel is inaccessible. For example, in steel construction, for fastening steel structures, metal panels or beams. They are popular in the electronics industry: for assembling electronic components in equipment and appliances. They are also used in furniture for assembling wooden or metal furniture, offering a discreet and solid solution. In the automotive sector, Caged Nuts are used to secure parts in vehicle interiors, such as interior rear-view mirrors. Finally, in the manufacturing industry, the part is used to assemble equipment and machinery in various industrial sectors.

In conclusion, caged nuts are essential for reliable and secure fastening in a multitude of applications. Their versatility, ease of installation and reliability make them the preferred choice for professionals concerned about the quality of their assemblies.
